I truly love this. The values alone are wonderful: dark light, near far, clear and shrouded; it conveys a vastness that seems to pull the viewer in. (Also, is that rocket-ship stamp? Classy!!)
Thanks, Kate! Yep, that is a rocket ship. My father was a bit of a philatelist and somehow — by buying bulk? — ended up with dozens of vintage Soviet space program stamps.
(They’re beautifully designed — maybe I’ll post pictures of them in the future… er — so to speak.)

I used to collect stamps when I was very young, too bad I’ve only one left.

You should! I once found a bunch of ‘wild life’ themed stamps in an old science book in our basement.
Anyways, I like this one a lot, though it’s really sad. The perspective is has a nice flow about it, and it seems very ethereal and dream like.
