1) Holy crap I didn’t know other people actually liked or knew of OMD (unless your British which doesn’t count…
2) I had no idea they did this song (which peaked in chart popularity the year I was born)
3) My favorite OMD song is ‘Maid of Orleans’ – but that’s probably played out by now. (especially if you listened to 90s trance and house where it was covered and mangled to death)
4) (Bonus) <insert joke about couch/wall blending in like the Serengeti/Ameringhetto and stalking the wild thermostatabeast>
(extra bonus) you know the special html character codes were made by nerds – because instead of left carat and right carat for <> it’s lesser than and greater than, their math usage. NAIRDS! Though I’m probably the bigger nerd for actually cogitating
Neko,
Used to be a BIG OMD fan…but then CDs replaced tapes and my dogeared OMD tape (that I’d actually snagged from my older sister) got lost in transition. Anyway, glad to find a fellow fan! Seeing this post yesterday made me remember how much I love them…need to visit iTunes to add them to my collection.
@fortson – Thanks for that link! I like OMD, but weirdly, have only heard a few of their songs before. I’ll have to pick some of that up.
Just because the acronym OMD makes me think of them — and they date from (roughly) similar eras — how about a little Electric Light Orchestra (ELO)? This is one of my favorite fan videos for their song “Twilight” — made for Daicon IV in 1983. Give it a moment to get going…

Couch, chair? It doesn’t matter, I really wish I could plop in it’s comfort.
