Don’t Be Shy

A Chinese Mantis (Tenodera aridifolia sinensis) pauses to observe my landscaping work. Perhaps it was also trying to determine the edibility of my camera.

  1. Knowing those mothers, he was sizing YOU up for consumablility.

I wonder if being chinese has anything to do with his resemblance to bamboo.

  2. Jon, I dreamed last night that I ordered all these mantis eggs by accident and they came in a pack and a strap to wear around your body to keep them warm until they hatched. It came with instructions on how to be a human incubator for them. I didn’t wear it but also didn’t know what to do with them and one day they began to hatch. I was really creeped out.

Thanks for the entomology dream, btw. ; )
