      I didn’t go into this structure — or any of the other structures nearby. They looked too unstable. According to our map, this structure was once a smokehouse. Only the black widows and smaller mammals occupy it now.

      ( Are you sure there’s nothing of this sort where you live? Buildings abandoned and left to nature seem a constant in the settled areas of the world. )
